Apple pie with aloe vera
We all know the traditional apple pie. It’s a very familiar and simple recipe that delights any diner. Perfect for an afternoon snack, a birthday, or any celebration. However, as aloe vera lovers, today we bring you an apple pie recipe that includes aloe vera among its ingredients.

Ingredients
- 2 small sweet apples
- 250 g of fine whole wheat flour
- 3 teaspoons of baking powder for pastries
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 lemon (zest and juice)
- 150 g of butter
- 125 g of orange, peach, or strawberry jam (or you can use sugar or agave syrup instead)
- 3 eggs
- 75 g of sliced almonds
- 2 tablespoons of aloe vera pulp
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes.
- Sift the flour with the baking powder and salt.
- In a mixer, blend the butter, jam (or syrup/sugar), and aloe vera. Then add the eggs one at a time. It’s important to beat the mixture well.
- Gradually add the flour while continuing to beat.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking or pastry mold.
- Peel and slice the apples into wedges and arrange them over the batter in the mold.
- Sprinkle the sliced almonds over the mixture and apples.
- Place in the preheated oven. The pie will be ready when a knife inserted into it comes out clean.
